HGV Class 1 Driver – Nights – Tipton, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver based in Tipton, West Midlands, to join our well-established client.

This position would suit applicants seeking a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts

• Monday to Friday
\n
• Start time: 19:00
\n
• Minimum of 8 hours paid per shift
\n

Rates of Pay

• £18.00 per hour
\n

Day-to-Day Duties

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver will include:

\n
• Operating HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and efficiently
\n
• Working primarily with double-decker trailers
\n
• Completing deliveries and collections as required
\n
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
\n
• Ensuring all loads are safe, secure, and compliant
\n
• Adhering to all UK traffic laws and transport regulations
\n
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
\n
• Reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly
\n
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
\n

Essential Skills

The skills required for the HGV Class 1 Driver role are:

\n
• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
\n
• A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
\n
• A valid CPC card and digital tachograph card
\n
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n
• A good level of written and spoken English
\n
• Excellent punctuality and time-management skills
\n
• A strong understanding of UK road transport regulations
\n
• Good communication skills
\n

Desirable Experience

\n
• Experience operating double-decker trailers
\n
• Previous commercial driving experience in similar roles
\n

Training Provided

\n
• Full industry-related training
\n
• Ongoing support throughout your employment
\n
